{"id":905,"date":"2024-05-25T07:18:21","date_gmt":"2024-05-25T07:18:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/beadysword.com.ng\/blog\/?p=905"},"modified":"2024-05-25T07:18:28","modified_gmt":"2024-05-25T07:18:28","slug":"court-orders-interim-forfeiture-of-4-7m-n830m-assets-linked-to-emefiele","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/beadysword.com.ng\/blog\/2024\/05\/25\/court-orders-interim-forfeiture-of-4-7m-n830m-assets-linked-to-emefiele\/","title":{"rendered":"Court orders interim forfeiture of $4.7m, N830m assets linked to Emefiele"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"post-content\">\n<p>the Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered an interim forfeiture of the sums of $4,719,054, N830,875,611, and several properties linked to the former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele.<\/p>\n<p>Justice Yellim Bogoro of the court made the order on Thursday, following an ex-parte application filed by Economic and Financial Crimes Commission counsel Bilkisu Buhari and C.C Chineye.<\/p>\n<p>Justice Bogoro, after taking the lawyers\u2019 submission, held: \u201cI have listened to the submission of the applicant\u2019s counsel and also perused the motion just moved, together with the affidavit in support<\/p>\n<div id=\"show360playvid\" class=\"360playvidUnit\">\n<div class=\"cleanslate360pv\">\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cThe applicant should publish this order in any daily newspaper circulating all over the federation for anybody interested to show cause why the final order of forfeiture should not be made.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCase adjourned to July 2, for motion for final forfeiture.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The monies forfeited to the Federal Government in the interim were said to be warehoused in First Bank; Titan Bank and Zenith Bank, being operated by Omoile Anita Joy, Deep Blue Energy Service Limited, Exactquote Bureau De Change Ltd; Lipam Investment Services Limited, Tatler Services Limited, Rosajul Global Resources Ltd and TIL Communication Nigeria Ltd.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-container desktop-only margin-top margin-bottom \">\n<div class=\"ad-container-inner\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1652281233069-0\" class=\"\" data-google-query-id=\"CLnQ5bmgqIYDFfNG9ggd73gIWA\">\n<div id=\"google_ads_iframe_\/31989200\/rvp-desktop-2_0__container__\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>His properties forfeited to the Federal Government include 94 Units of an 11-floor building under Construction at 2, Otunba Elegushi 2nd Avenue (Formerly Club) Road, iKoyi, Lagos; AM Plaza, 11-floor office space, situate on 1E, Otunba Adedoyin Crescent, Lekki Peninsula Scheme 1, Lagos; Imore Industrial Park 1, Esa Street, Imoore Land purchased with (Deep Bive Industrial Town, Oriade LCDA, Amuwo Odofin LGA, Lagos, Mitrewood and Tatler Warehouse (Furniture Plant at Bogije) near Elemoro Lagos, Owolomi Village,ibeju-Lekki LGA, Lagos and two properties purchased from Chevron Nigeria, Closed PFA Fund, Block B.
