{"id":9178,"date":"2025-10-23T10:14:13","date_gmt":"2025-10-23T10:14:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/beadysword.com.ng\/blog\/?p=9178"},"modified":"2025-10-23T10:14:25","modified_gmt":"2025-10-23T10:14:25","slug":"police-arrest-sowore-after-court-appearance-for-nnamdi-kanu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/beadysword.com.ng\/blog\/2025\/10\/23\/police-arrest-sowore-after-court-appearance-for-nnamdi-kanu\/","title":{"rendered":"Police arrest Sowore after court appearance for Nnamdi Kanu"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mvp-content-body-top\" class=\"left relative\">\n<div id=\"mvp-content-main\" class=\"left relative\">\n<p>Former presidential candidate and activist, Omoyele Sowore, has been whisked away from the precincts of the Federal High Court in Abuja by armed policemen, shortly after he made appearance for the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-container adsense margin-top margin-bottom \">\n<div class=\"ad-container-inner\">\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Sowore, who is a frontline agitator for Kanu\u2019s release from detention, was on Thursday accosted by the security operatives who insisted he must move with them to the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Police Command.<\/p>\n<p>Sowore was taken into custody at the Federal High Court in Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>This was revealed in a post on X by human rights lawyer Inibehe Effiong, who accused the police and President Bola Tinubu\u2019s administration of undermining Nigeria\u2019s judicial system.<\/p>\n<p>He wrote: \u201cThe arrest of Omoyele Sowore at the Federal High Court in Abuja moments ago is preposterous.<br \/>\n\u201cThe police and the Tinubu regime are making a mockery of our judicial system.He should be freed immediately.
