What began as one of Nollywood\u2019s most talked-about marriages \u2014 the union between billionaire politician Senator Ned Nwoko, 64, and popular actress Regina Daniels, who married him at 19 \u2014 has now turned into a public storm of accusations, heartbreak, and alleged abuse.<\/p>\n

The couple, once celebrated for their luxurious lifestyle and frequent displays of affection online, are now under intense public scrutiny after Regina appeared in a viral video, visibly emotional, saying:<\/p>\n

\u201cIn Ned Nwoko\u2019s house, I am nothing. In my house, I am a queen. I cannot stand the violence again \u2014 it\u2019s too much.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Her statement sparked widespread concern and renewed discussions about domestic violence, power imbalance, and the pressures faced by young women in high-profile marriages.<\/p>\n

Their 2019 wedding was both controversial and glamorous, largely because of the age difference and Ned Nwoko\u2019s political and financial influence. For years, they presented a united front \u2014 but recent events suggest deep cracks beneath the surface.<\/p>\n

Shortly after Regina\u2019s video went viral, Ned Nwoko took to social media to respond. In his post, he accused his wife of drug and alcohol abuse, claiming her behaviour had become violent and unpredictable. Many Nigerians, however, criticised him for publicly airing private family matters.<\/p>\n

Regina reportedly claimed that Ned attempted to evict her and her brother from the house after an argument, even involving security officers. She also accused him of violence and control, saying he would not allow her time with her children unless she met his demands. It was rumoured that Nde introduced her to the drugs same as his other wives, substances they must use before coming to him in the inner room.<\/p>\n

Adding to the controversy, human rights lawyer Chidi Odinkalu criticised Nwoko\u2019s response, calling it \u201ca disgrace\u201d and warning that his public comments could harm his children in the future.<\/p>\n

Regina\u2019s brother, Sammy West, alleged that she was physically assaulted and claimed her \u201chead was smashed against a wall,\u201d intensifying public outrage and concern for her safety.<\/p>\n

In his defence, Nwoko released a detailed statement titled \u201cRegina\u2019s Unprovoked Carnage and Rampage in My House and in My Absence.\u201d<\/em> He claimed Regina had refused to continue her rehabilitation program\u00a0and accused her of assaulting domestic staff and destroying property.<\/p>\n

He further stated:<\/p>\n

\u201cRegina was not always like this. Her current battle with drug and alcohol abuse is the root of our problems. She must continue her rehabilitation, or I fear for her life.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Nwoko insisted that he has never been violent and that his other wives have not made similar claims, portraying Regina as the aggressor.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Regina\u2019s supporters argue that she is a victim of emotional and physical abuse, while others believe she is now facing the harsh realities of a lifestyle built on status and power imbalance.<\/p>\n

One social media user wrote:<\/p>\n

Whether Regina is a victim of abuse or a woman struggling with personal issues \u2014 and whether Ned Nwoko is a controlling husband or a man trying to protect his family \u2014 remains unclear.<\/p>\n
