Eruku, Kwara State<\/strong> \u2013 Panic and grief swept through the town of Eruku in the Ekiti Local Government Area on Tuesday evening after terrorists launched a brutal attack on a branch of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC). At least three worshippers were killed<\/strong>, and several others, including the church pastor, were abducted.<\/p>\n

According to eyewitnesses, the attackers stormed the church during a meeting, opening fire indiscriminately. Worshippers fled for their lives as the gunmen executed the assault.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe gunmen came in suddenly and started shooting. Three people were killed instantly,\u201d a local source recounted.
\u201cThey gathered others at gunpoint and marched them into the bush. We still don\u2019t know the exact number taken.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Residents say the assailants escaped through bush paths linking Eruku to neighbouring communities, leaving the town in chaos and fear.<\/p>\n

Terror Spreads Through the Town<\/h3>\n

Earlier reports from Naija News House indicated that the violence in Eruku began as heavily armed terrorists entered the town via one of the main access routes. Sporadic gunfire erupted as they advanced, forcing residents and travellers to flee intothe\u00a0 surrounding bushes for safety.<\/p>\n

Vehicles were abandoned along the roads, and eyewitnesses described the sustained sound of gunfire echoing across the community.<\/p>\n

One traveller who narrowly escaped the attack shared a frantic video from his hiding place:<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is 18-11-2025. On my way back from the Federal Poly, Bida, Niger State, we were coming through Ilorin road when they started shooting. Everybody has scattered into the bush. Please, come to our rescue. People have abandoned their vehicles. The community is in chaos. Please help us.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Community in Shock<\/h3>\n

The sudden assault has left residents of Eruku traumatised. With worshippers killed and others abducted, the town now faces heightened fear and uncertainty. Security forces are yet to provide updates on rescue efforts or pursue the attackers.<\/p>\n

Authorities and humanitarian organisations are being called upon to respond quickly to prevent further loss of life and to ensure the safe return of those abducted.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
