The visit took place on Monday, 17 November 2025.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9625\" src=\"https:\/\/beadysword.com.ng\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/IMG_3356.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"168\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Key highlights from the tour<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba, the Customs Area Controller (CAC), described the visit as a critical engagement aligned with the Service\u2019s ongoing reform agenda.<\/li>\n<li>The theme of the study tour was \u201cEvaluating the Impact of Customs Modernisation on Trade Facilitation.\u201d The participants explored how the NCS\u2019s modernisation efforts are strengthening efficiency and service delivery at one of Nigeria\u2019s busiest and most strategic ports.<\/li>\n<li>Comptroller Oshoba emphasised Apapa\u2019s strategic role in the national economy and stressed the importance of operations that are efficient, effective, and aligned with international standards.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Innovations showcased during the visit<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>B\u2019Odogwu system<\/li>\n<li>Time Release Study<\/li>\n<li>Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) programme<\/li>\n<li>Electronic Cargo Tracking<\/li>\n<li>One-Stop-Shop initiative<\/li>\n<li>Advanced Ruling System (ARS)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>According to Oshoba, these reforms have contributed to faster cargo clearance, enhanced security, and improved stakeholder satisfaction at Apapa.<\/p>\n<p>Engagement with the next generation of customs leaders<\/p>\n<p>The students were encouraged to actively engage with the sessions to gain firsthand insight into how modernisation is transforming trade processes. Comptroller Oshoba underscored that today\u2019s learners are the future leaders of the Service, and their participation would help shape a more modern, technology-driven operation.<\/p>\n<p>The CAC expressed optimism that the knowledge shared during the exercise would bolster the students\u2019 professional development and reinforce the Service\u2019s continuous drive toward modern, technology-driven operations.<\/p>\n<p>Visuals and connections.
