Three members of Abia State Governor Alex Otti\u2019s advance team were attacked on Tuesday morning by unidentified gunmen near Sam Mbakwe Airport in Owerri, Imo State.<\/p>\n
The attack happened along the Umuowa\u2013Ihite junction road, just a short distance from the airport. The team was on its way to the airport for official duties when gunmen, believed to be on the run, opened fire on their vehicle.<\/p>\n
Governor Otti\u2019s Chief Press Secretary, Njoku Ukoha, confirmed the incident in a statement. He explained that the officers were part of an advance team and that the governor himself was nowhere near the scene.<\/p>\n
According to him, no one was killed or injured.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe public should note that Governor Otti\u2019s convoy was not involved, and no lives were lost,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n
