“You Chose Money Over Justice” — How Mohbad’s Father Allegedly Betrayed His Late Son by Accepting a N50 Million Bribe from Nigerian Artiste
Public outrage is intensifying online as new allegations emerge suggesting that Mr. Joseph Aloba, father of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, may have compromised the pursuit of justice for his son. It is claimed that he accepted a staggering N50 million from Nigerian singer Naira Marley, which allegedly influenced his stance in the ongoing investigations into Mohbad’s mysterious death.
A viral Instagram post by @cutie_juliss accuses Mr. Aloba of switching sides in the case, allegedly after being lured by a hefty bribe from Naira Marley, one of the individuals previously linked to accusations of bullying and mistreatment of Mohbad.
According to the post, Mr. Aloba initially had every opportunity to support investigations and seek justice for his son. However, it is alleged that he changed his allegiance after promises of financial gain, all while shifting the blame onto Mohbad’s widow, Wunmi.
“As Naira promised him 50 million Naira at the time, he began supporting Naira and accusing Wunmi, his daughter-in-law,” the post claims.
The story takes a twist as Naira Marley, who was previously under suspicion, has now been cleared of all allegations related to Mohbad’s death. Yet, in a surprising development, Mr. Aloba reportedly returned to demand the N50 million from Naira Marley, only to be met with hostility and disconnection.
The post further alleges, “Jose went back to Naira for his money. When he realised Naira had cut him off, he decided to press charges against Naira… Oloshi… come get out of our faces and enjoy the first 2 million Naira Naira gave you.”
Adding a final, sharp critique, it concludes: “Sebi, you didn’t spend a dime on a lawyer? Olorinbrukuuu, next time, behave.”
This controversy has reignited calls for justice, with investigations into Mohbad’s death gaining renewed momentum, driven by the involvement of activist VeryDarkMan and close friends of Mohbad who are determined to see the truth emerge.
