The Iluke Bunu community in Kogi State is in distress after bandits attacked, killing a local school vice principal and kidnapping students preparing for their WAEC examinations.

In a separate incident in Minna, Niger State, pupils fled their schools over fears of bandit attacks. Local police later denied reports that any schools had actually been attacked there.

Meanwhile, the Edo State government has closed three secondary schools following warnings from the Department of State Services about planned abductions. Governor Monday Okpebholo stressed the importance of protecting students and ordered a suspension of academic activities at the affected schools. He assured that students can still attend their exams with security measures in place.

Local authorities are urging the public to stay vigilant and cooperate with security efforts.
