Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway Renames after Tinubu-FG

The Federal Government has renamed the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway to the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Coastal Highway. Minister of Works, David Umahi, announced during a media briefing. He said the decision followed wide consultations and recognises Tinubu’s long-standing vision for the project, which he first proposed 27 years ago.

The renamed highway will include a 47.47-kilometre section with a six-lane carriageway. A median will be reserved for future railway development.

Umahi also announced that President Tinubu has approved a 400-kilometre extension of the Fourth Legacy Highway, increasing its total length from 700 to 1,100 kilometres. Another 400 kilometres of the East-West Road will be dualised.

Other approved projects include the reconstruction of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and the completion of the abandoned Ibi Bridge in Taraba State. The government says these projects are aimed at improving connectivity and stimulating economic growth.
