The Lagos chapter of the Accord Party has strongly denied reports that it has endorsed President Bola Tinubu for re-election in 2027.

Speaking on behalf of the party, Chairman Dele Oladeji said no such endorsement was ever discussed at any National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting. He dismissed the claim as false and politically motivated, pointing to comments made by Chris Imumolen, a factional presidential candidate, as the source of the misleading information.

Oladeji reaffirmed the party’s commitment to fielding candidates across various positions in the coming elections, including the presidential race. He urged members and the public to disregard any information suggesting the party has thrown its support behind Tinubu or any other candidate.

He also questioned Imumolen’s standing within the party, noting that his name does not appear on the party’s updated membership register as of 2023.

The Accord Party, according to Oladeji, aims to maintain its independence and political identity, and has no intention of backing another party’s candidate.
