Abducted Kogi Businessman Brutalized by Captors, Begs for Ransom
A disturbing video has emerged showing a kidnapped Kogi State man being violently assaulted by his captors as he pleads for his life.
The victim, identified as AB Adebayo (also known as Kemuna), was abducted alongside his wife from their home in Iluke-Bunu, Kogi State, two weeks ago. In the footage, which surfaced on June 13, 2026, Adebayo is seen suffering repeated blows from sticks while one of the armed captors brandishes an AK-47.
Speaking in Hausa, the visibly terrified victim begged for mercy and pleaded with his abductors, assuring them that his family would pay the ransom they demanded.
The video has sparked fresh concerns over the worsening security situation in Kogi State, where incidents of kidnapping and banditry are becoming increasingly common. Adebayo’s current condition and the fate of his wife remain unknown at the time of this report.
