Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has raised serious concerns over what he describes as illegal off-budget spending by the administration of President Bola Tinubu. According to Atiku, the government has allegedly spent ₦8.8 trillion outside the approved national budget, an act he describes as fiscal impunity and a direct violation of constitutional provisions.

Atiku criticised the lack of transparency and accountability in how public funds are being managed, warning that such practices undermine democratic governance and set a dangerous precedent for the nation’s finances.
