Former Delta State Governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, is dead.

He died on the morning of Monday, October 19, 2026, after a brief illness. He was 71 years old.

His death was announced by his family in a statement signed by Toju Andre Uduaghan.

The family described his death as a big loss to Delta State and Nigeria as a whole.

Uduaghan was born on October 22, 1954.

He served as Commissioner for Health in Delta State from 1999 to 2003, Secretary to the State Government from 2003 to 2007, and Governor of the state from 2007 to 2015.

The family said they are grateful to God for his life and service, and prayed for the repose of his soul.
