Brazilian Vice President Geraldo Alckmin, wife arrive Nigeria

Brazilian Vice President Geraldo Alckmin, his wife, Maria Lúcia Alckmin, and others have arrived in Nigeria ahead of the much-anticipated Second Session of the Nigeria-Brazil Strategic Dialogue Mechanism, SDM.

The Brazilian delegation was received at the Presidential Wing of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in the early hours of Tuesday.

The Deputy Chief of Staff received them on behalf of President Bola Tinubu, including Ibrahim Hadejia, Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, and two other ministers, as well as Nigerian government officials.

Senator Hadejia, who spoke at the airport reception, described the visit as “a pivotal moment,” especially considering President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

He emphasised the strategic importance of Nigeria deepening ties with Brazil.

The Nigerian Government said last week that it was ready to host the second edition of the Nigeria-Brazil Strategic Dialogue this week.
