Operatives of the Nigeria Police have arrested Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, the self-acclaimed Director-General of the controversial Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), in Osun State.

The arrest brings an end to a weeks-long manhunt by security agencies who had been tracking the suspect over allegations of forgery, fraud, and impersonation tied to the purported federal agency.

The Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Anietie Iniedu, confirmed that Adeyemi was arrested without incident by a team from the Intelligence Response Team (IRT). He has since been moved into police custody for further interrogation.

According to Iniedu, the arrest followed intelligence-led operations, days after security operatives raided the suspect’s family residence while searching for him. Investigators had questioned his family members during the hunt.

The arrest came just hours after Justice Mohammed Umar of the Federal High Court in Abuja issued a warrant for his arrest. Adeyemi was scheduled to take his plea on Tuesday on an eight-count charge marked FHC/ABJ/CR/562/2025, which includes forgery, fraud, and impersonation.

Although the matter was listed as No. 12 on the court’s cause list, Adeyemi failed to appear for his arraignment. A lawyer, Mr. Genesis Francis, announced his appearance on his behalf, but his absence prompted the court to issue the arrest warrant.

The case continues to draw public attention as more details emerge about the activities of the PFIPC and the alleged fraudulent operations carried out under the guise of a federal government initiative.
