Comptroller Joe Anani, the Customs Area Controller of the Tin Can Island Command of the Nigeria Customs Service, has initiated a strategic partnership with the Africa Association of Professional Freight Forwarders and Logistics of Nigeria (APFFLON).

The collaboration was established during a meeting with an APFFLON delegation led by Chief Sulayman Gambo, which included the association’s local and regional leadership. The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between the Customs Service and freight forwarders to improve compliance and operational efficiency at the Tin Can Command.

Comptroller Anani emphasised the need for greater compliance from the freight forwarding community. Since assuming office, he has actively engaged with various freight forwarding associations as part of efforts to foster a more seamless and efficient customs clearance process.
