The Deputy President of Ohaneze Ndigbo Lagos, Nze Edwin Egboka, has paid a courtesy visit to the leadership of the Imo State Towns Development Association Lagos (ISTDAL), where he pledged the support of Ohaneze Lagos for the association’s upcoming 40th anniversary celebration.
Nze Egboka, who recently assumed office, led a delegation of Ohaneze Lagos executives to strengthen the relationship between both organisations and discuss areas of future collaboration.
The delegation was received by the ISTDAL President, Chief Hon. Chris Ekeocha, and other executives of the association. During the meeting, both groups reaffirmed their commitment to promoting unity, cultural values, and the welfare of Ndigbo living in Lagos State.
Speaking during the visit, Nze Egboka praised ISTDAL for its leadership, organisation, and contributions to the development of Imo indigenes in Lagos.
A major focus of the meeting was the forthcoming “ISTDAL at 40” celebration, scheduled to hold on 19 September at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos. The event will mark four decades of the association’s service and is expected to attract Imo indigenes, Imo friends and well-wishers of Imo’s, all Igbos in Lagos, sister organisations, and other stakeholders from across Lagos.
Chief Hon. Chris Ekeocha briefed the Ohaneze delegation on preparations for the anniversary, describing it as an important milestone and an opportunity to celebrate the achievements and unity of the Imo community in Lagos and to celebrate those who are worth celebrating.
In his response, Nze Edwin Egboka assured the association of Ohaneze Ndigbo Lagos’ full support for the anniversary celebration, saying the organisation would work with ISTDAL to ensure the event is successful.
The visit ended with both organisations expressing their commitment to continued cooperation for the growth, unity, and progress of Ndigbo in Lagos State.
