The Nigeria Customs Service’s Apapa Area Command has recorded its highest-ever revenue collection in a single month, bringing in ₦323 billion in July 2026.

According to a statement from the command, this new high was achieved under the leadership of Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba. The figure builds on an earlier record of ₦304 billion set in October 2025.

The command credited the results to several factors, including policy support, operational reforms, and improved compliance by traders and businesses. Key initiatives that helped drive the numbers include the upgraded B’Odogwu system and the One-Stop Shop (OSS) initiative, which allows for faster cargo clearance and quicker delivery.

The Authorised Economic Operator framework also played a role in boosting revenue, with more than 200 beneficiaries now registered.

Comptroller Oshoba highlighted the importance of a stable and predictable foreign exchange environment for effective business planning. He also encouraged officers to aim beyond basic revenue targets and contribute more to the command’s goals.

He stressed the need for strong stakeholder relations, urging officers to give stakeholders hope and build trust through professionalism. To keep the momentum going, Oshoba called for continued training, security awareness, and strict adherence to procedures, noting that transparency and good leadership are shared responsibilities across the entire command.
