At least four people were killed on the night of Friday, August 28, 2026, when suspected terrorists carried out coordinated attacks across several communities in Plateau State, Nigeria.

The violence started along the Barkin Ladi–Bokkos road. According to witnesses, the attackers set up a roadblock — reportedly less than a mile from military checkpoints on either side — and stopped a commercial minivan carrying nine passengers. Two pastors were pulled from the vehicle: Pastor Hills Emmanuel, a Ghanaian-Nigerian cleric based in Bokkos, and his colleague Pastor Gabriel Joseph Dipak of Christ Apostolic Church. The two men were traveling from Jos to Bokkos after attending a program in the capital.

Pastor Emmanuel was found dead the next morning, near the site where he was taken. He was a former pastor at Dunamis Church and the founder of The Wonderful Grace of God Evangelical Ministry in Bokkos. Pastor Dipak remained missing, though his family had been contacted by the kidnappers by Saturday afternoon. Their demands were not yet known.

That same night, four more attacks took place within a 10-to-20-mile radius. A woman was killed in Fang village in Riyom LGA, two people died in Radura village in Barkin Ladi LGA, and at least one person was injured in Chakfem village in Mangu LGA. Homes were set on fire across the affected areas.

Conflict journalist Masara Kim Usman, who reported the incidents, described them as five separate attacks in one night, carried out by the same suspected perpetrators against the same kind of targets — Christians.
