Customs Board Confirms New Management Appointments

The Nigeria Customs Service Board has approved new top appointments following the retirement of several senior officers.

Constantine Dim is now confirmed as Deputy Comptroller-General. Five new Assistant Comptrollers-General were also approved: Pascal Chibuoke, Sani Yahaya, Franklin Onyeka, Chibuzor Eyakwaire, and Ethelbert Nnaji. The appointments, announced at the Board’s 65th Regular Meeting, follow the Federal Character Policy to ensure fair representation across Nigeria’s regions.

In other decisions, the Board:

  • Upgraded the Customs Medical Corps to a sub-department
  • Scheduled recruitment screenings to start September 7, 2026
  • Updated old regulations to align with the 2023 Customs Act

The Service also reported collecting N4.30 trillion in revenue by June 2026 — about 36.4% of its N11.074 trillion target — thanks to improved systems and new initiatives.

The Comptroller-General congratulated the new appointees and promised continued focus on accountability and revenue collection.
