In a significant display of political goodwill, consultation and grassroots engagement, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for Imo North Federal Constituency, Hon. Chidi Mike Anyanwu (CMC), on Saturday, September 5, 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the former Chairman of Okigwe Local Government Area, Hon. Uche Eze, at his residence in Okigwe.

The visit brought together a notable gathering of political leaders, community stakeholders, youth representatives and religious leaders, underscoring the growing importance of broad-based consultation ahead of the forthcoming political season in Imo North.

Hon. Anyanwu, who is seeking to represent the people of Isiala Mbano, Onuimo and Okigwe Local Government Areas in the Federal House of Representatives, used the occasion to engage with respected leaders and community stakeholders on issues concerning the development, unity and political future of the constituency.

Receiving the NDC candidate alongside him were several prominent personalities, including High Chief Uche Mbonu, Chief Okechukwu Okereke, Chief Okechukwu Eleghasim, Hon. Chief Okadigbo, Mrs. Eucharia Oforma, Mrs. Oyibo Innocynthia Egbugha, and Mr. Charles Ashawgbu, a youth leader.

Also in attendance were numerous President-Generals representing different communities across Okigwe Local Government Area, as well as religious leaders and other influential community stakeholders.

The gathering provided an important platform for dialogue and relationship-building, with the presence of such a diverse group of leaders reflecting the value attached to consultation and inclusive political engagement at the grassroots.

Hon. Uche Eze, a former chairman of Okigwe Local Government Area, remains a respected figure within the local political and community landscape. His reception of Hon.
