Augustine Ehiemere, the National Vice Chairman for the South East zone of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has called on Abia State Governor Alex Otti to rejoin his political family, describing APGA as his true political home and the most stable platform for sustainable governance.

Ehiemere made this appeal during a stakeholders’ meeting of APGA in Abia South Senatorial District held last week in the state. Emphasising the party’s stability, he advised the governor to resist temptations to align with other political parties, which he characterised as unstable.

“APGA remains the healthiest and most stable political party in Nigeria today,” Ehiemere declared. “We are calling on Governor Alex Otti to return to his political roots, where his political journey began.”

He further explained that the Labour Party is currently rife with crises, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is nearly in disarray, the All Progressives Congress (APC) is not a safe haven, and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has lost its influence. In contrast, he affirmed that APGA offers the stability and ideological consistency that can support Otti’s continued good governance.

Ehiemere commended Governor Otti’s performance, particularly praising his efforts in security and welfare. He supported the ongoing collaboration between Otti and Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah, citing the establishment of the Abia State Security Trust Fund as a positive initiative.

The APGA leader also lauded the governor for his timely payment of salaries and pensions, while urging him to address the backlog of gratuities owed to retired workers.

Concluding his remarks, Ehiemere urged APGA members across Abia South and the entire state to stay committed and steadfast in upholding the party’s principles.

It is noteworthy that Alex Otti was the APGA governorship candidate in Abia State during the 2015 and 2019 elections.
