According to the Amotekun Commander, Adetunji Adeleye, the family was involved in the abduction of a victim who was held captive even after a ransom had already been paid. Adeleye stressed that the corps does not support ransom payments and confirmed that the recovered money would be returned to the family.
The other suspects were linked to crimes including armed banditry, illegal possession of firearms, robbery, cultism, and theft. The parade of suspects highlights the corps’ ongoing efforts to crack down on criminal activity in the state.
