Lagos Fire Service, NIMASA, NPA Extinguish Tank Farm Fire at Ibru Jetty, Apapa
On July 3, 2026, emergency response teams successfully put out a major fire at the Bono Energy Terminal near Olodi Apapa in Lagos.
The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, working alongside the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), responded to the blaze reported at 12:04 p.m. The fire, which broke out in a storage tank at the terminal, was brought under control within 1 hour and 38 minutes.
No casualties were recorded during the incident. Emergency crews acted quickly to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby facilities.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
